The choir was originally formed as a Women’s Institute choir in the sixties, reforming in 1980 as a singing for fun group obtaining sponsorship from the Co-operative Society in 2003 to become the Glenfield Ladies Co-operative choir. The choir sings for their own enjoyment, a variety of songs, folk, show, spirituals, classics. Some are in unison, some in parts. The choir also gives performances every year to raise money for both the choir and various charities.
We are a warm and welcoming group of ladies who just love to sing! Conducted by our new Musical Director, Laura Freeman and accompanied by talented pianist, Mary Starie.
We rehearse on Monday evenings at the Glenfield Methodist Church LE3 8BT from 7:15 - 9.15pm.
We welcome all abilities and there are no auditions. If you want to know more just pop in to see us during a rehearsal or use the contact page.
